Corps Member Dies, Many Injured As Articulated Truck Crushes Vehicles In Ibadan

A serving NYSC member has died in a road accident involving an articulated truck that reportedly rammed into several vehicles in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, leaving several other people injured.

The accident occurred around Agodi Gardens, where the truck allegedly struck a motorcycle carrying the corps member after earlier crashing into multiple vehicles around the Sango area.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the truck driver continued towards Agodi Gardens after the earlier collisions and was allegedly attempting to escape when the fatal crash occurred.

The incident triggered traffic congestion around the area, with motorists diverted as emergency responders attended to the victims.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) later arrived at the scene and confirmed that those injured had been transported to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

The cause of the crash and the circumstances surrounding the driver’s alleged attempt to flee had yet to be officially established as of the time of filing this report.
