Commendation And Call For Unity Within Oyo APC | Matthew Oyedokun
I wish to sincerely commend all the governorship aspirants and other critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State who have demonstrated remarkable maturity, patriotism and commitment to the progress and unity of our great party by setting aside personal ambitions, embracing reconciliation and placing the collective interest of the party above individual considerations.
I equally commend the APC Oyo State Reconciliation Committee for its commendable efforts in bringing various stakeholders together and creating an atmosphere conducive to dialogue, understanding, forgiveness and cooperation. The Committee’s intervention has once again demonstrated that, despite our legitimate differences and political interests, the overall interest of the party and the people of Oyo State must remain paramount.
Of particular significance is the decision by Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Hon. Hakeem Alao, Hon. Ashanike and Hon. Bakare to align with and support our party’s Governorship Candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD. This is a significant demonstration of political maturity, statesmanship and a willingness to subordinate individual ambitions to the larger interest of the APC and the people of Oyo State.
This development should serve as a turning point and an opportunity for all members, leaders and stakeholders of the APC across the state to close ranks, bury their differences and work together as one united political family.
The task before us is greater than individual ambitions, personal disagreements or past political differences. It is about strengthening the APC, restoring confidence among our members and presenting a united, credible, disciplined and formidable political organisation to the people of Oyo State.
I therefore respectfully call on all APC members, leaders, aspirants and stakeholders across the state to support this reconciliation process and work collectively for the success of all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections—from the President to the Governorship Candidate, Senators, Members of the House of Representatives and all candidates seeking election into the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The APC must remain a party where differences can be resolved through dialogue, where reconciliation is encouraged and where the collective interest takes precedence over individual ambitions. We must therefore seize this moment to rebuild trust, strengthen our internal cohesion and create a new culture of cooperation and mutual respect.
Our strength lies in our unity. Where there is unity of purpose, there is greater capacity for victory. Let us therefore put the past behind us, reconcile genuinely, support one another and move forward together in the spirit of brotherhood, loyalty and commitment to the ideals of our great party.
The people of Oyo State are looking up to the APC to provide a credible and united alternative. We must not disappoint them by allowing personal differences to undermine our collective political objective.
United, we can win together. United, we can build a stronger APC. United, we can secure victory for all our candidates.
I once again commend the Reconciliation Committee and all the stakeholders who have embraced this noble initiative. I urge every member of our party to sustain the spirit of reconciliation and ensure that the emerging unity becomes permanent and beneficial to the APC and the people of Oyo State.
May the All Progressives Congress continue to prosper, and may peace, unity, understanding and victory prevail among all members of our great party in Oyo State.
