Oyo State residents have questioned the impacts of the current Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, over the past eight years.
In a series of posts and comments on instagram, these netizens noted that Ogundoyin’s impact as the number three citizen in the state did not produce any tangible outcome that qualifies him to be the state’s next governor.
According to Princeoye_jr, the Speaker’s record as a lawmaker did not produce equal representation across Ibarapa. “This one wey no fit give us good road in ibarapa.. whatever benefits of ibarapa sit in his hometown alone… Mummy’s boy,” he posted.
Another netizen, @mary_yoo_ 4h, noted that even the Speaker’s hometown barely benefitted anything from his time in office. “@princeoye_ir even his hometown is worst, have you seen the road that leads to his late father’s estate,” she wrote.
Similarly, another netizen, @uncle_yomiie, questioned the impact of the Speaker on the various communities in Ibarapaland over the past eight years, including in the core legislative function of making laws.
“Lol. how many bill did he passed in a favor to his region? So what’s the benefit of representing us in a state government???” he asked rhetorically.
