A statement by James Itodo, chairman of the Senate Press Corps, stated that “As a testament to ‘Responsive Representation’ you have been offering the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District in the Senate within the last 17 months, particularly on the execution of constituency projects and empowerment programnes; entire members of the Senate Press Corps, heartily wish to confer on you Responsive Representation for Good Governance Award (RRAGG).”

Reacting to the development, Akintunde said he didn’t set out to do what he had done as senator because of award but because he wanted to make lasting impacts in the lives of people.

”Lond before I had the ambition to represent our people, I knew there was a need to make impact in the lives of the people. This wasn’t because those before me didn’t person, they did well. No one person can do everything.

”It has been good in the past months. We are doing our bits. At first, we had to list our priorities and you would see that it has been constant. The empowerment we did recently was just symbolic. There were many that didn’t get to the media because we were deliberate about it. There is nothing we give our constituents that they don’t deserve more.

“The new year offers more hope and I promise that my team and I would stop at nothing in bringing smiles to the face of our people. This award will definitely spur me to do more. I appreciate you for considering me worthy of this honour,” Akintunde added.
