PHOTO: Again, Police Raid Auxilliary’s House, Recover RPG, Other Dangerous Objects

    The Adebowale Williams-led police in Oyo State Wednesday night, in a bid to neutralize the state of criminal elements, raided another house belonging to run-away sacked chairman of the disciplinary committee of the Park Management System, PMS, Mukaila Lamidi, recovering a rocket-propelled grenade, RPG, and other dangerous weapons in the process, OYOINSIGHT.COM has been briefed.

    Though Lamidi, better known as Auxilliary, was not at home when police raided the house, said to be located along Olodo end of Ibadan-Iwo road, the RPG, 7 other guns, ammunitions, magazines, cutlasses, axe and other dangerous objects.

    This second raid, OYOINSIGHT.COM, came hours after the police raided of his hideouts located in the Isebo area of Alakia, where sophisticated firearms were recovered.

    The raid of Auxilliary’s houses became important following the violence unleash on rival groups minutes after ‘Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State was inaugurated for another term on Monday. The governor had, in order to curb his excesses, banned the PMS as well as its leadership, an action that infuriated Auxiliary.

    Auxilliary, this newspaper understands, is still on the run for fear of arrest and possible prosecution which may lead to his return to Agodi correctional facility. Gunmen, believed to be his men, last night, went round major garages shooting, in a possible bid to take over.

    Also (78) Seventy-Eight suspected hoodlums who had perfected plans to unleash mayhem at the early hours of today at Major parts of the Metropolis were arrested in possession of sophisticated firearms, (724) Seven Hundred and Twenty-four Cartridges assorted charms, (33) Thirty-three Mobile Phones, and a cash sum of about (#3,450,000) Three Million Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira Only.

    Exhibits recovered from the suspects are one AK-47 Riffle, four (4) AK-47 magazines, Eighty four (84) live AK-47 Ammunitions, Nineteen (19) pump action riffles, one Barreta Pistol, Seven Cut-to-size Gun, one English made Barrel Gun, Seven Hundred and twenty four (724) live cartridges, 25 cutlasses, Seven Jack knives, thirty three(33) mobile phones, one Samsung Laptop, Charms, One Mazda Bus, One Toyota Sienna, Cash sum of Three Million, Four Hundred and fifty thousand naira, (N3,450,000.00).

    Recalled that Oyo state governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde on monday announced the dissolution of Auxiliary Park Management System across the state.

    Addressing journalists at the command’s headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, the commissioner of police Adebowale Williams said though the PMS Chieftain was able to escape with some of his boys during the gun duel with the Police, but a member of the group was neutralized in a gun duel with the Police.

    While reiterating its unwavering commitments towards tackling criminal rascality, hooliganism and blatant disregard for the rule of law, Adebowale enjoins residents to cooperate with the Police with the provision of useful information to help apprehend the sacked PMS Chieftain

    He also said residents shall witness high octane patrols, coordinated stop and Search along designate points across the nook and cranny of the State also directed Area Commanders to personally lead convoy patrols and rings of supervision of Police operatives within their respective areas of jurisdiction.
