Speaking at the event, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Kadiri Adebukola, noted that the borehole has the potentials to provide accessible and potable water to several communities particularly the Akinmorin Awe, Fiditi, Ilora Iware, Jobele and Imini communities and their environs.

“According to UNICEF data, the use of contaminated drinking water and poor sanitary conditions result in increased vulnerability to water-borne diseases.

“Only 26.5 per cent of the population use improved drinking water sources and sanitation facilities, hence the sinking of this borehole will not only provide potable water but will go a long way in alleviating the hardship faced by the vulnerable persons especially women and children in their bid to source for clean portable water,” she said.

She noted that the borehole project is her company’s way of appreciating its host communities for providing an enabling environment to run their business without any hindrance.

“This measure of giving back to our host communities developmental projects that will benefit them by Eternal Home Cemetery is a continuous effort and I can assure you, we will not rest on our oars,” she added.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of the local government, Sunday Akindele, had lauded the company for the selfless initiative.

“This project will go a long way to complement the good visions of this present administration under the able leadership of the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, in ensuring provision of infrastructural development for the well-being of good people of Oyo State,” he said.
