    In a solemn celebration of the 35th Graduation Anniversary of the 1982-1987 Old Boys of the prestigious Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan, with commissioning of facilities and donations of various types of equipment for the use of the students, and school as a whole.

    The ’87 Old Boys generally thanked Almighty God for the thankful opportunities God has given them all to have been alive and celebrating their 35th year of graduating from the institution that has in no small way impacted their REAL life into them.

    It should be noted that the set has produced professionals in various fields of operations, captains of industries, business owners, and a host of others.

    Addressing the set members and other well-wishers present is the outgone chairman of the set and former CBN Deputy Governor, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, FCA, FCIB, OFR, who expressed his appreciation for the unending love and supports he received from his longtime and childhood friends towards the success of his administrative years as the chairman of the set.

    “It was indeed a worthwhile journey for me, and with my old-time friends whom we have journeyed together for years. It was not a smooth journey to be sincere, but with them at my back, I am always boosted to do wonders collectively.”

    “And for their endless love and support towards my political aspiration, I must say, I have found a worthy pillar of support from them all, I am using this opportunity to thank you for all you have been doing.”

    Barr. Femi Johnson, Lagelu Grammar School Governing Board Chairman, while congratulating the ’87 Old Boys for the many feats they have achieved for the smooth running of both academic and non-academic sections of the school, he further tasked them to not relent in giving more back to their alma mater and continue to be good ambassadors of the prestigious institution.

    The school Principal, Pastor John Adebimpe takes the general audience through many projects and facilities facilitated by the distinguished and eminent old boys of the school, and he is very proud of being the principal of the envious and prestigious Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan.

    The new set Chairman, Distinguished Lagelite Ibukun Ogunniran while addressing the general public thanks the Chairman Board of Trustees, Grand Distinguished Lagelite Sir (Col.) Bola Ogunsanwo, Chairman, Lagelu Grammar School Governing Board, Barrister Femi Johnson, National President of LAGSOBA, Dr. Kayode Afolabi, BOT, SGB, National Executive Council, the School Principal, Staff of Lagelu Grammar School, Distinguished Lagelites.

    “It is a great honor bestowed on me and other new executive members. We are indeed humbled. This mandate is a sacred one and we intend to do everything within our power to protect its sanctity.

    “It’s a mandate which brings about a burden – the burden to serve not only our colleagues but also the entire LAGSOBA and to promote and protect the interest and welfare of our members.”

    “As the new Chairman of this great organization, I will work assiduously with my colleagues in the Executive Council to build on the achievements recorded by my predecessors. I will work for the protection and promotion of the rights of our members and the association.”

    “In as much as we will cooperate with the leadership of LAGSOBA to put in place measures and programs for the growth and development of our association, I assure you that we will not fold our arms and watch our set staying behind among the comity of LAGSOBA Worldwide.”

    “We will consolidate and build on the successes our set already has through the leadership of the immediate past executive. May I also use this medium to thank our immediate past Chairman, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, his Vice, Alhaji Dr. Rahman Olalekan Oguntade, and other executive members for their support.”

    “As the Chairman of this great set, I am happy to inform you that this new executive is blessed and composed of quality, highly intelligent, and competent individuals of various backgrounds with tremendous successes in their various callings. I do not doubt that we are all capable to perform in our various offices. However, we will need the cooperation of all members to achieve and perform to your expectations.” he concluded.

    The ’87 set in commemorating their 35th anniversary donated 15 units of Desktop Computers for the school ICT laboratory, a well-equipped Creative Arts Studio for the school, renovating and linking of a borehole to an eight-room block of toilets, set support to the school fencing project, maintenance of adopted two blocks of six classrooms, and hosts of many other activities.
