One of the gubernatorial aspirants in the ruling All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Dr Azeez Adeduntan, has called on the leaders of the party in state not to allow the mistake the party committed in Osun State to repeat itself in the pace-setter state.
An online newspaper, www.pmparrot.com, quoted Adeduntan, who was featuring on an Ibadan-based radio station, Lagelu FM on Monday morning, as saying, adding that he is the best candidate to be presented.
His words “Oyo APC must not present a candidate whose indigeneship of Ibadan is doubtful. You see, the people of Iragbiji said the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola in Osun State said he was not an indigene of Iragbiji.”
He also said he would not step down for anybody if he is asked to adding that the likes of Joseph Tegbe, Bayo Adelabu and others should learn to go and ‘queue’.
The former commissioner for health also said former governor Adebayo Alao Akala should leave the gubernatorial race and sit as a kingmaker saying “when I become governor of Oyo State by God’s grace, I will take care of Akala, I will take care of his children.
“Even, when I lose out and I will not by God’s grace, I will not leave APC.”
Oyo APC plans to hold its indirect primary on Saturday.
