Former chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, has mourned the passage of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Soun of Ogbomoso.

It would be recalled that the late monarch, who ascended the throne in 1973, died in the early hours of Sunday, December 12, 2021.

Olamijuwonlo, who is a son of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, said that the people of the state, especially Ogbomosos will miss the late monarch.

“I want to sympathize with the family and the people of Ogbomosoland and Oyo state over the death of our great King. Though we would have loved to have Baba around for some years to come but God knows best. Moreover, apart from the fact that Baba lived longer on earth and spent quality time on the throne, he left behind children who are blazing the trails in their fields of endeavors. Also, the monarch attracted many developmental projects to our town during his close to 5 decades on the throne. We are consoled by all these.

“I want to urge Ogbomoso home and abroad and Nigerians to remember Ogbomoso and the family in their prayers. We, as indigenes, must use this period to further unite ourselves and cement relationship,” the youthful politician added.
