Praying that God be gentle on the soul of the late businessman, Akintunde, who hails from neighboring Oyo town, explained that the monarch deserves credit for most of the  development have.

“This was a man that hustled his way to the top despite being a prince. He was barely 14 years old when his father died. He couldn’t go beyond primary school. He defied all these odds and became a force to reckon with in business. He was doing excellently in Jos, the Plateau state capital when he was called to come ascend the throne of his forbears. Out of the 100 people who voted, he got over 90. That shows he was the chosen one right from the family. Immediately he was installed, he swung into action. A new palace was built. From 3 schools I. 1973, Ogbomoso now has over 150. There are three teaching hospitals in the ancient town. And during his reign, Ogbomoso produced a governor — former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala who is now the leader of our party. Apart from establishing an hotel, he encouraged many sons and daughters, and even residents, establish businesses in the town.

“I know the party would be pained by the loss of the departed monarch as they would have loved to have in around for more years, they should be consoled by the fact that he lived an unblemished life. I read and follow development about the town. Our late former leader, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi knew him and he told us beautiful things about him. To the people of Ogbomosoland, they should offer prayers for the repose of his soul. I offer my condolences to the people of Ogbomosoland over the loss of the reverred monarch.
