Peller, OYOINSIGHT.COM, has since the past few weeks been moving from towns to hamlets in order to talk to stakeholders on the ways and strategies to adopt in tackling kidnapping, armed robbery, killings and other vices in his federal constituency.

In a statement made available to this newspaper, Peller explained that “Disturbed by the rampant cases of kidnapping, killing and robbery by the suspected herdsmen in Iganna, Iwajowa local government area of Oyo State, which is one of the four local governments that I represent at the House of Representatives, on Tuesday we held a stakeholders security meeting to discuss and address the recurrent ugly situation.

“In attendance were the Shabiganna of Iganna, His Royal Highness Oba Azeez Soliu Oyemonla, representatives of the DSS, Nigeria Police Force, Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), local hunters and Fulanis in the vicinity.

“We understand that the Fulani herdsmen that carry out this act of criminality are not those that live within the community, but outsiders that gain entrance through the forest. We reached so many resolutions, one of which is the need for data collection exercise for all the Fulanis residing in the community for proper identification. To aid this documentation, I volunteered to provide computers to the police who will oversee the exercise.”
