Akanran, Headquarters of Ona-Ara local government area of Oyo State, was agog yesterday as Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort hosted people to its maiden Xmas carol for 2020.

The event, which took place at the moment expansive Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, owned by Engr. Dotun Sanusi, saw the Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, Oyo State Central Choir, Redeemed Christians Church of God (RCCG), Covenant Garden Zone, Oyo Province 1 choir, Anointed Voices of BCOS Chapel and Music Technology Department, The Polytechnic, Ibadan were all present to make the event memorable.

Ilaji Chapel Choir, Network for Inclusion of People with Special Needs (NIPSN) and Bois Olorun Gospu Apala were also around at the well packaged event which was characterized by renditions of beautiful songs.

At the event, the chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Christian Wing, Bishop (Dr.) Ademola Moradeyo, admonished Christians all over the country to reflect the synthesis of birth of Jesus Christ by showing love to the people around them, irrespective of tribe and ethnicity.

Moradeyo, in his sermon, explained that human beings are the most cherished and loved creature in the universe by God, which made Him to create man in his image.

He, however, said that separation between man and God was as a result of opportunity given to Satan by man to perpetrate his evil. Bishop Moradeyo emphasized that God was able to reconcile with man by giving His beloved son, Jesus Christ, which we are celebrating his birth.

“The love we are enjoying today is unmerited love, the birth of Jesus Christ was what the God used to reconcile Him and the people.”

Bishop Moradeyo, therefore, urged Christians not to lose the synthesis of the birth of Jesus Christ, “show love to your neighbours, friends, colleagues and people living around them irrespective of tribe and ethnicity.”

The Christian board pilgrims’ Chairman stated that how to maintain peace, love, unity and peaceful coexistence should a paramount thing in the heart of a good Christian.

The event witnessed the presence of important dignitaries in the Christian circle of the state including the Onpetu of Ijeru, Oba Sunday Oyediran and Bishop Taiwo Adelakun of Victory Church International, who led the congregation in prayers for Nigeria, Oyo State and Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort.

In his remarks, Chief Operating Officer of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Prince Adesina Araoye, said that the organization is an outfit which stands on the tripod of hospitality, entertainment and sports with determination to make comfortability of the people a priority.

He said that Xmas period is a period of celebration, giving thanks to God and commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Prince Araoye cited that this what made Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort to give thanks to God for His love Nigeria, Oyo State and Ilaji.

He admonished all sundry to preach love, share love and show love to one another, which Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort is known for.

Leading in the Bible reading at the glamorous Xmas Carol was the former Chairman, Christians Association of Nigeria, Apostle (Col) Joshua Akinyemiju, wife of the CEO and Assistant General Overseer, Ilaji Chapel, Deaconess Joyce Sanusi and GOC 2 Division, Ibadan, Major General A. B. Omozoje, who was represented by Brigadier General A. P. Ogunsola.

Others who also participated in lesson reading are CEO, Ibadan Central Hospital, Dr. Habib Olamitoye, Commissioner of Police, Oyo State, Mr. Nwachukwu Enwonwu, who was represented by Bar. S. O. Oke, Ona-Ara Local Government CAN Coordinator, Rev. Kolawole Akinlade and Oyo State Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Samson Ajetunmobi.
