The race for who takes over from Akin Oke as chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, a 54-year politician, Hon. Ajewole Elisha Ajetola, has joined the contest.
The Ago-Are, ATISBO-born graduate, in a chat with OYOINSIGHT.COM, said he believes he is the right candidate for the job, especially at their crucial time that the party looks troubled.
Ajetola, who was chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy, AD in 2003 and Action Congress, AC, in 2007, said that “there is no human-being that is perfect and therefore I can’t be the best but I can deliver my best.
“Going by my antecedent, you ought to have understood my deep involvement in the progressive fold of ATISBO LG and Oyo state at large,” said Ajetola, who was also chairman of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, between 2010 and 2012.
Apart from being the secretary of Oyo AD disciplinary and arbitration committee chaired by Alhaji Olaide Abass in 2005 and secretary of ATISBO LG between 2011 and 2014.
“And if you ask me one million times, my simple answer will be the legacy of Chief Akin-led executive/caretaker of the party must be sustained and we must by the grace of God do everything humanly possible to rescue Oyo State from the present audio government,” he added.
