2027: Ibarapa Central/North APM Stakeholders Bury Differences, Pledge To Deliver All Party’s Candidates

Stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency of Oyo State have resolved to put aside their differences and work collectively towards securing victory for all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The resolution was contained in a statement made available to journalists by Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, ANIPR, Special Adviser to Hon. Adebayo Adepoju on Media and Publicity, on Friday.

The reconciliation meeting, which lasted for about five hours, was convened by the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Obafemi Ojo, and held at the Oyo State Secretariat on Friday, September 18, 2026.

The meeting brought together party leaders and stakeholders from Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North to address grievances and differences that had created divisions among various political camps.

The stakeholders deliberated on the challenges confronting the party and resolved to close ranks and work together ahead of the 2027 elections.

Among the recommendations reached was the establishment of a reconciliation committee to engage stakeholders who are yet to participate in the process and address outstanding grievances.

The stakeholders also recommended that full-scale political mobilisation and campaign activities should commence two weeks after the conclusion of the reconciliation process.

They further recommended that the planned empowerment programme, project commissioning, town hall meeting and grand finale of the One-Day House of Representatives Member Initiative by Hon. Adebayo Adepoju should be held before the end of October 2026.

The stakeholders unanimously endorsed the candidacies of Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, Hon. Dhirkrulahi Olajide, Hon. Adebayo Adepoju, Hon. Lateef Adebare Akorede, Hon. Sola Adeleke and Hon. Peter Ojedokun, alongside the two vice-chairmanship candidates and all 20 councillorship candidates across the 10 wards of the two local government areas.

They also pledged to work for the re-election of incumbent candidates and the election of other APM candidates, expressing their determination to strengthen the party’s presence across Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.

The APM candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Hon. Dhirkrulahi Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo, made an unannounced appearance at the meeting and pledged his support to the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North if elected.

Olajide urged the stakeholders to see themselves as one family and bury their differences, stressing that collective success as a political party was more important than individual disagreements.

He noted that disagreements were normal in political engagements but urged the stakeholders to resolve their differences and chart a common course for the future of the party and the constituency.

Those at the meeting from Ibarapa North included Hon. Peter Ojedokun, Hon. Lati Adebare Lawal, Mr Olayiwola Nureni Akinteye, Hon. Funmi Orisadeyi, Mr Ali Oloyede, Hon. Bisi Akande, Alhaji Dauda, Baba Ohio, Hon. Tunde Adegbenjo and Alhaji Sakorfi.

Stakeholders from Ibarapa Central included Chief (Hon.) Ademola Ojo, Hon. Dr Anthony Adepoju, Hon. Sola Adeleke, Hon. Akinlolu Olugbade, Chief Kolawole Olanrele, Chief Ademola Eyinade (Elejire), Hon. Monsuru Oduola, Hon. Sola Fakorede, Hon. Rashidi Babarinde, Hon. Remi Ayoade and Hon. Saubana Oladokun.
