2027: Excitement As Oseni Commits N100m To PASOBBA Road Rehabilitation, 25m To Groups

Member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has approved N100 million for the immediate rehabilitation of the major access road serving the seven Pasobba communities in Ibadan.

Oseni announced the intervention on Saturday, September 12, 2026, during a town hall meeting with residents and community leaders from Power Line, Awonsoso, Siba, Olupoyi, Balogun, Baba Agba and Agaloke.

The lawmaker also pledged that the road project would be completed within four months, after community stakeholders unanimously identified the deplorable condition of the road as their most pressing need.

During the interactive session, Oseni asked the communities to choose between a new transformer and the rehabilitation of the road. The stakeholders opted for the road, prompting him to immediately approve the N100 million intervention, a decision that was met with jubilation from residents.

He also announced a N25 million donation to support various groups, associations and stakeholders represented at the meeting, describing the gesture as part of his efforts to strengthen grassroots participation and community development.

Oseni said his engagement with communities across Oyo South should not be viewed as a campaign despite the commencement of political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that his objective was to listen to the people, understand their challenges and find practical solutions.

“My visit here today is not to solicit for votes, but to listen and find practical ways to attend to the requests and plights of my people,” he said.

The federal lawmaker also disclosed that he had facilitated the distribution of 31 transformers across Ido and Ibarapa, with about 80 per cent of the cost personally funded by him, despite the provision of electricity infrastructure not being among the direct statutory responsibilities of a federal legislator.

He said his interventions also covered solar street lights, boreholes, bridges, toilets, educational support and youth empowerment, adding that several youths had received N1 million each as seed capital for small businesses.

Oseni further urged youths to remain focused and resilient, sharing his experience of working as a bus conductor to raise money for his secondary school education before eventually becoming an engineer, businessman and legislator.

The town hall, attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, community elders, women and youth leaders, ended with expressions of appreciation from residents.
