Olusegun Olaleye, a two-term former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has become the first member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to purchase the house of representatives ticket.
Radical Brother as the former students’ union president of the University of Ibadan, is seeking to represent Ibadan North federal constituency seat.
Dedicating what he described as the ‘coming victory’ to God and the good people of the federal constituency, the former ublicity secretary, National Youth Council of Nigeria and Health and JCR, minister of Kuti Hall, UI, who was represented by his personal assistant, Mr. Taiwo Adebiyi, said the people are in for the best if he wins the party’s ticket and general election.
According to Radical Brother, who was a member of the constitutional reforms conference and vice president (national affairs) of NANS, “I am contesting to salvage our people from misrepresentation. Ibadan North is one of the elitists’ federal constituencies we have and we cannot continue to be represented by those who don’t have what it takes.
“Our governor and leader, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has performed creditably well. And, in fact, that was what motivated some of us to come out. And added to this is the fact that the people know that we did well as state lawmaker. So if I am allowed to represent them at a bigger stage, they are going to enjoy meaningful representation. I know the ropes already. It is a familiar terrain and I am not going to disappoint,” he said, thanking PDP members for their support.
He also enjoined PDP members to remain steadfast and continue to mobilize support for the re-election bid of Governor Seyi Makinde for another term.
“Though I have no doubt that our leader would be re-elected for another term but I still want to urge our people not to relent. He has done tremendously well in the first term and I am sure he is going to do more in his second term.”
