Candidates who are contesting various positions in the 2023 elections in Oyo State will have the chance to tell the people why they want to contest and what they have to offer.
Mo Kájù E, a political programme, to be anchored by Joshua Kolade Olagunju, a veteran broadcaster and a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, will offer the opportunity.
Scheduled to start on Monday on Solution 93.9 FM Ibadan, the one-hour programme will, among other things, provide opportunities for candidates from different political parties to sell themselves.
The programme will run from Monday to Friday every week between 11 and 12 noon.
Olagunju, while speaking on the importance of the flagship programme, said that “Over the years, I feel that there is a huge gap between representatives and the people. Nobody is to be blamed for this. We can blame the people, we can blame the representatives. We can also blame the parties and agency of government responsible for educating the people.
“I was a member of the state assembly. Lawmakers need to know their functions just as the people also need to know. Most times, the people don’t know who they are voting for. They vote popular political parties. Candidates can go to all places in their domain, so this programme provides them and their people the opportunity to interact. The candidates will tell the populace what they have to offer, the people would also be allowed to phone in,” he added.
