A foremost politician and grassroot democrat in Oyo State, Engr. Remi Oseni has officially decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party.
Oseni’s decision to leave the ruling party in the state, which was announced at a recent gathering of his supporters under the auspies of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends, is in preparation for his 2023 gubernatorial bid.
According to Oseni, who is yet to officially announce his new political party, his interest in politics is strictly people-centered.
“The essence of this is to bring our people together in preparation for 2023 elections.
“If I become the Governor of Oyo State that would send a very good signal across all states of the Federation because the Bible says when a righteous is in power the people of the state will rejoice,” the front line politician was quoted saying.
Speaking during the event, a grassroot politician and former Aide to Governor Seyi Makinde, Yemi Aderibigbe, described Oseni as a formidable political movement.
“Iroko is a movement but we are going to dissolve into a political party soon and that party would be made known to our people before the second week in May,” Aderigbe said.
