Shortly after collecting the forms, Akintayo visited the party’s deputy national chairman (South) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja in his Abuja office.

Speaking after obtaining the forms, Akintayo said the decision to obtain the forms was sequel to his consultations with various stakeholders of the PDP at both state and local government level to intimate them of intention to contest for the State House of Assembly for Oluyole state constituency in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

According to him, “as a true democrat who believes that politics is all about the people and not for personal gains, I want to use my experience as an erudite broadcaster and tourism expert to bring smiles to the faces of the downtrodden in my constituency by sponsoring laws that will centre on the welfare of the people and equally facilitate many developmental projects to the grassroot if elected.

“I believe strongly that my 2023 Legislative Agenda and contributions on the floor of the House of Assembly will lead to improvements in the social welfare policies of the state, improve its security and ultimately contribute to the expansion of its economy that will bring food on the table of the majority of the people.

“I want to say a very big thank you to my people in Oluyole Constituency for their tireless and unflinching support for the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde in the last three years. I promised not disappoint them if giving the opportunity to represent them in 2023 election.”
