The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Oyo State, has adopted the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Engr Oluseyi Makinde, as its own gubernatorial candidate for 2019 elections.
At a meeting attended yesterday by the chairman of the party in the state and the executive council members from all the 33 Local Govt Chapters, held at the Banquet Hall, Premier Hotel, Ibadan, the State Chairman, Alhaji Kola Mudashiru Balogun announced the resolution.
Balogun said that Oyo needs an educated, humble, public spirited and visionary governor, qualities that Makinde possesses in abundance.
He also noted that there is the need for synergy among opposition parties in the state to kick out the current APC in the state in order to stop a dispensation of unemployment, poverty, hunger, unpaid salaries and poor health facilities.
Others present on the occasion were the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Mr Olukayode Oyedeji, Hon Kẹ́hìndé Ayọ̀ọlá, the National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Babatunde Tijani, a leader of the party in the State and Engr Idowu, the Youth Leader.
