Hajiya Titi Abubakar, wife of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku, yesterday visited former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala in his Awosika, Bodija, Ibadan residence.
Alao-Akala, a former PDP chieftain, is the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, in the March 2nd, 2019 governorship election. Mrs Abubakar, a Yoruba woman from Ilesa part of Osun State, said the visit was in continuation of her nationwide consultation with leaders of thought, opinion moulders and top politicians across all political divides (religious, political and traditional).
This is just as he stated further that Alao-Akala, being a major stakeholder and a force to reckon with in the political calculation of the south-west and Nigeria at large, it behoves on her as a daughter of the land to inform the elders of her place of birth of the political ambition of her husband who is also a son of the soil by extension of marriage and having spent the better part of his early life in the southwest part of the country and seeolk their support in ensuring Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s victory at the forthcoming polls.”
While speaking, Alao-Akala appreciated Mrs Abubakar’s efforts for standing by her husband and for taking up the gauntlet of toiling for the success of her husband, an action he described as that of a charismatic woman who means well for her husband.
They later went into a closed-door meeting which ended about an hour after.
