Dayo Ogungbenro, chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has appealed to all aggrieved members of the party in the State to close ranks with Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, in their interest and that of the party adding that it is important for them to understand that a governor is totally different from a mere aspirant and candidate of a party who can be bullied hence, no one can play god over him or the party.
Ogungbenro said this today while fielding questions from Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on BOTTOM LINE – a political programme on IBR 92.5FM, Ibadan.
In an apparent response to some of the remarks of the aggrieved members of the party in recent times, the PDP boss stated that Makinde is genuinely committed to reconciliation.
His words, “One of the the assignments given to me by the governor is to reconcile these people and you will recall that I stressed that in my inaugural speech. Very soon, I will be going out with my team round the state and it is also in a bit to solidify the party. However, let me say this that I don’t like discussing issues relating to these my party leaders in the public but they must know that nothing can be achieved in a violent manner.”
