Barring any last minutes’ change of mind, Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, may redeployed, at least, two of his reappointed commissioners to new ministries, OYOINSIGHT.COM has learnt.
Sources told this newspaper that Makinde may change their proposed portfolios when they come for inauguration Monday morning.
This was just as many political observers believe that Makinde had relieved them in order to fortify his team for optimum performance. They were, however, surprised when many of the 7 initial commissioners were deployed to their former ministries.
This newspaper recalled that Makinde had sent the names of 10 commisioner-nominees to the Oyo State House of Assembly two weeks ago for screening and confirmation. Sent alongside were the proposed portfolios of the nominees.
The 10-man list had 5 old and 5 new faces.
Seun Fakorede (youth and sports), Olasunkanmi Olaleye (education, science and technology) Adeniyi Adebisi (trade and commerce), Rahman Abdul-Raheem (lands, housing and survey), Wasiu Olatubosun (information, culture and tourism), Abiodun Oni (environment), Musibau Babatunde (budget and planning), Olusegun Olayiwola (agriculture), Taiwo Ladipo (health) and Alhaja Kafilat Olayiwola (women affairs).
In the first list of 7 commissioners, Makinde, OYOINSIGHT.COM recalled, had redeployed Faosat Sanni to special duties ministry after she was reappointed. She was in charge of women affairs ministry.
The commissioners are expected to be sworn in this morning by Makinde.
