    Though many don’t know she bears Ikuerowo ‘Mowumi, popular Ibadan-based chef and food service provider, has explained why she is staging the first-ever edition of new yam festival, which is unusual among the Oyo-speaking parts of Yorubaland.

    Slated for Sunday, 6th August 2023, it would hold at Onisasun’s premises at Block 3, Plot 1, Town planning, Oluyole Estate Road, Beside Marriage Registry, Adjacent Sumal Head Office, Ibadan.

    According to Mowumi, the festival will showcase a delectable spread of iconic dishes, including Isapà, Wòròwó, Ìlà Aláṣẹpọ, Èfọ̀rírò, Ègúṣí, and indigenous delicacies such as Banga, Edikaikong, Ogbono, and the ever-popular Seafood Okro.

    “We want to bring the essence of our traditional dishes to life, and the New Yam Festival is the perfect occasion to do just that,” Mowumi expressed with excitement. “Our team at Onisasun is committed to delivering an unforgettable experience, with an abundance of flavors that will transport you back in time.”

    She urged those interested in attending to book their slots ahead of time. “Due to the overwhelming responses which we have received, we have limited slots available. We want to ensure that everyone gets to savor this unique experience, so early booking is essential.”
