Hon. Sherif Aderemi Adeojo, chairman of Ido local government, has revealed that his commitment towards adding to the quality of life of the people is the motivation for lighting up major communities in the council area.
According to the graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, Ogbomoso, the streetlights will serve as a source of security in the areas covered and will assist the security personnel in their surveillance roles within the areas.
Engr Ijadunola Olushina, chief executive officer of H-Values Energy, the company that handles the installation of the 40 solar-powered floodlights, he explained that the project covered Alako, Akinsola, Ajiboro, Elere-Akilo, Ilaju and Adesiyan (in ward 1); Orisumbare, Tola- Omu Aran, Akindele and Oloko-gbooro (in ward 3); Ologuneru and Apete areas (in ward 4) and Idi-iya, Adegbite, Ladunni, Batake and Sonso-reserve (ward 5).
Speaking further, Adeojo said that the commencement of the second phase of installation of streetlights in the four major wards within the council area is targeted at complementing the light-up project executed by the Governor at the state level.
He said the illumination will equally serve as a protective light for the motorists plying the areas covered by the project.
“Let me use this medium to reiterate my administration’s unflinching commitment to the uplifting of the welfare of our people and we shall always endeavour to bring to fruition our great dreams of better life for our residents.
“I only want to appeal to our people, irrespective of political and religious affiliations, to cooperate with our Government in steering the ship of this State to greater heights as we continue to support him at the local government level.”
“We know our people are appreciative of this project. We have initiated it in two wards and other wards in the Council too will benefit from it soon as it is an ongoing thing. It will be more useful for motorists plying the areas and our traders,” Adeojo added.
