Soliu, an engineer and one of the sons of a leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Abubakar Gbadamosi, has revealed why he is the best to succeed Shina Peller, who is no longer contesting Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola federal constituency seat in the house of representatives.
Apart from the fact Peller now wants to represent Oyo North in the senate, “I possess everything needed to represent this constituency,” the former students union leader told OYOINSIGHT.COM.
He spoke shortly after obtaining his nomination form and visit to party leaders in the federal constituency.
According to the Ilero-born alumnus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, he has always been part of the progressive family right from his undergraduate days, adding that “I was secretary general of the students union government at LAUTECH between 2002-2003 and was state coordinator for Student Action Group, SAG, in the 2003 general election for late former governor Alhaji Lam Adesina’s re-election under the Alliance for Democracy, AD, and I acted as state election monitoring officer posted to Ogbomoso zone.
”I also served as a legislative support officer to the then chairman, Hon. Ayo Adeseun-led committee on budget and appropriation in the house of representatives.”
In those position, the young Gbadamosi explained that he served creditably well.
Saying that he is not relying solely on his father’s influence to get the the APC’s ticket and win the general election, Gbadamosi noted that “I am emboldened by the encouragement I have received from our party leaders, members and well wishers both men and women of repute across the four local governments of our federal constituency to seek your support towards my emergence as a flagbearer for All Progressive Congress (APC) in the fourth coming 2023 general election.
He revealed that it requires an able, intellectually sounds, morally upright and experienced hand to represent the people, adding that “Beside proposing as primary responsibility impactful bills and productive motions, I shall facilitate the University of Agriculture and Production through private collaboration with citizens at home and diaspora to be located within the federal constituency.
He promised to deploy his networks which he has acquired with his many years in the civil service to get things done if elected.
”It is a dawn of a new era for us if I am allowed to represent our people,” Abu Gbadamosi assured.
