The Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) has advised Governor Seyi Makinde to involve the Fulanis in the South-West Security Network codenamed Amotekun in Oyo State.

This development the party says will help solve the security challenges confronting the State.
The position of the party was made known today by the Ag. National Chairperson of the party, Biodun Bamigboye while fielding questions from Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on IMPACT POINT, a News and Current Affairs programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan.

According to him “if you look at the success recorded by Amotekun Corps in Ibarapa few weeks back, it was not the effort of the Indigenes among them alone, the Fulanis were also part of the operation”.

“We need to understand that not all the Fulani herdsmen are criminals and that is why I am against what Sunday Igboho said when he asked the Fulani herdsmen to leave Igangan”.

“The position of our Party is for the government to make Amotekun a multi-ethnic formation and we have made this known since the Corps was formed”.

Bamigboye attributed the high rate of insecurity in the State to the economy of the State which he said is faulty.

“Do you know the rate of unemployment in this State presently?” Do you know how many youths that are unemployed out there?”.

When he was reminded of the efforts of the Seyi Makinde led government in improving the economy of the State especially the appointment of about five thousand Teachers he said “It is laughable. Do you know how many Workers are yet to be paid the new minimum wage?”.

He lampooned the Federal government for not doing enough to address the security challenges across the Country adding that States are only reaping the effects of the ineptitude of the government at the Centre.
