Omo-Iya-Kunmi Foundation, OIKF, a not-for-profit organization, has said it lost a supporter with the death of Prince Ajibola Afonja.

A statement by OIKF’s Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Siyanbola Akinkunmi, described the death as shocking.

Afonja had breathed his last Sunday night at the age of 82.

It is shocking to hear about the demise of a great man who had goldenly etched and sculptured his name in the hearts of many.

Prince Ajibola Afonja lived a good life and was a bedrock toward community development. He stood up for the common man in his community—financially, morally and specially.

We, at OIKF, would maximally miss his great elderly support. Baba was an example of a good sage with a sane mind—he was always at the front to help the younger one grow immensely—contributing hugely to whatever they believe in, just to ensure the community keeps evolving.

Prince Ajibola Afonja ‘IDS’ did many things that could not be done—he brought rare developmental ideas that were never thought of.

In this dark moment, we are grateful for the life he lived. His legacies are untouchable and will never be erased in the history of Oyo town.

We seek for Allah’s ultimate blessings on his soul, may his shortcomings be forgiven and may he be placed among the successful ones in the hereafter.

Sleep on, the Legendary IDS!
