Supporters and loyalists of late former governor Lamidi Adesina met today at his Felele residence to dissociate themselves from the adoption of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, by those they described as ‘few elements’, as their candidates for Saturday’s election.

Recall that some members of the APC had defected from the party owing to crisis that occurred during the Congress. The breakaway faction, Unity Forum, is populated majorly by loyalists of the late former governor.

Communiqué Issued At The End Of Reunion Of Lam Adesina’s Political Scions

Descendants of Lamidi Adesina Political and Leadership College under the popular aegis of Lamists and Unity Forum at their reunion meeting which was held at Lam Adesina’s Hall, Felele on Wednesday, 5th March, 2019 reacted to salient issues as affecting the legacy of the late respected political icon, state polity mostly as regards the ongoing electioneering and the Saturday’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

The group predominantly populated by political ambassadors drawn from various political parties due to the surreptitiously conduct and purported endorsement by some few individuals masquerading as adherents of the late former Governor of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, deliberated on the ignominy and other developing matters.

The get-together further afforded score of old fellows from different political party platforms to reunite and rub minds on how to resuscitate and promote the legacy of the late savvy.

Importantly, the gathering availed the teeming attendees to bare their minds on the state of affairs of the happenings in the ongoing heated political atmosphere as the following resolutions were unanimously made

– That Lam Adesina’s political family remains indivisible one.

– That Lamists / Unity Forum have nothing to do with All Progressives Congress, APC with its sheer disdainful conduct to rubbish and obliterate the legacy of the late former Governor.

– That Lamists remains disinterested to the anti-masses projects of the ruling administration marshalled by Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

– That we have not endorsed any gubernatorial candidate as we are still consulting far and near. This is to make sure that opinions of all members of Lamists / Unity Forum as well as of those who contested the National Assembly elections are sought before arriving at a conclusion on who to support.

– That we are NOT rejoining the All Progressives Congress, APC, because the reasons we left the party have not been addressed.

– That membership of Lamists / Unity Forum in African Democratic Congress, ADC remains valid.

– That Sen. Olufemi Solagbode Lanlehin remains the leader of the group.

– That members of the group flying their respective electoral projects on various political party platforms next Saturday should forge ahead.

– That members of the clique should redouble their efforts in mobilizing voters en masse towards the emergence of our House of Assembly candidates and the governorship candidate we are going to adopt before Saturday’s election.

– That Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, Hon. Sumbo Olugbemi, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun and a host of others remain members of the ADC as long the national leadership of APC refuse to do the needful in addressing the injustice that characterized the conduct of the last congress in Oyo State.
