The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Iwuanyawu on Tuesday, at a mega rally of the party in Mapo hall, Ibadan, Oyo state, said that they will hold Governor Abiola responsible if anything happens to the party’s flagbearer for Ibadan North/ South West federal constituency.
Iwuanyawu, who presented ZLP flags to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Sharafadeen Alli; the three senatorial candidates and all the 14 house of Representatives candidates, including Ajanaku, said nothing must happen to the young man, “whose entry into the race, has continued to send jitters than the spines of the ruling party and its candidate in the constituency.”
Raising the alarm,Iwuanyawu, who was flanked by his wife; former governor Rashidi Ladoja and members of the National Working Committee of the ZLP, said that since Ajanaku left the All Progressives Congress, APC, to contest under ZLP, security agents have been on his (Ajanaku) neck following a trumped up allegation by his opponent.
This is just as he warned the state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi and the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed to respect the rights of the party’s candidates to seek people’s votes without let or hindrance.
“Governor Ajimobi, if anything happens to Ajanaku, we will hold you responsible. Everybody is free to belong to a party of his or her choice, enough of harassment of our candidates,” Iwuanyawu added.
