In his own remarks, the convener and Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of We2geda, Ibrahim Hussein Abdulkarim, explained that money politics have done great disservice to the country, and that the need to address this birthed We2geda Movement.

Furthermore, he reminded all that the country’s founding fathers were not thinking of creating a Nigeria for Nigerians but for Africans at large, stressing that We2geda Movement is not only about the present generation, but about generations yet unborn.
    The BoT chairman said:

“This is an opportunity presented to us; hence, If you think this is about us you are missing it. It is not about us but our unborn generations.”

Also, he announced the need of 270 people in every ward to narrate the needs of the ward. “We want to have minimum of 270 people in every ward; so that they can tell us what that ward needs,” he said.

In his remarks as the National Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Shina Peller, who is a serving member of the House of Representatives, expressed confidence that We2geda is a tool through which Nigeria will be put back on the right trajectory particularly as 2023 general election beckons.

In the same vein, the federal legislator argued that for desirable change to take place in Nigeria, the country must change its style of politics, adding that godfatherism and imposition of candidates on the electorates should no longer be encouraged.

Moreover, he emphasized the need to build strong institutions rather than powerful individuals who will later consider themselves as semi-gods.

Famous Nigerian artiste, Innocent Ujah Idibia aka 2Baba and other celebrities like Broda Shaggy, Kenny Blaq and other prominent personalities in the entertainment and business world were also in attendance to identify and align themselves with the movement.
