Wasiu Emiola, a seasoned grassroots politician with a distinguished public service record, has formally expressed his interest in representing the people of Ibadan North Local Government at the Federal House of Representatives. He submitted a letter of intent to the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Ibadan North Local Government.
His political experience spans back to the days of Ibadan Municipal Government, where he served as the pioneer Ward Secretary of Ward 2, comprising present-day Wards 1, 2, and 3. He also held the position of pioneer Education Secretary, Ibadan North Local Government, for a record nine years, demonstrating his openness, honesty, and integrity.
Emiola has held state secretary positions in two major political parties and boasts a broad support base across various political and professional divides. This makes him an ideal candidate for the All Progressive Congress as the party seeks to ensure victory in the upcoming bye-election and fill the vacancy left by the late Honorable Musiliu Olaide Akinremi.
While extending his condolences to the immediate and political family of Honorable Akinremi, Honorable Emiola praised the late lawmaker’s vibrancy and lasting impact on Ibadan North Local Government and Oyo State politics. He assured the people of Ibadan North Local Government of an integrity-based representation if given the opportunity.
“Late Honorable Akinremi was like a younger brother and a close friend who always invited me to his community events. I was present at his last empowerment program, where we distributed financial support packages to beneficiaries. We did not expect his sudden demise, but we must accept Allah’s will and focus on bettering the lives of those still alive by God’s mercy.”
“I assure our people in Ibadan North Local Government APC that, by Allah’s provision, I possess the goodwill and political experience to win this bye-election. I have demonstrated the necessary character and proven integrity to deliver quality representation.
