UI VC Race: Selection Process Set To Commence

The Governing Council of the University of Ibadan will discuss the report of the controversial Senate meeting that the incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka chaired.

OYOINSIGHT.COM recalls that the Senate meeting which was held earlier this month looked into the petitions against the election of two new members of the Joint Senate selection committee .

However, OYOINSIGHT.COM gathered that the meeting of the Governing Council will most likely not stop the selection process of the next Vice-Chancellor which will commence with an interview on Tuesday, October 27.

Six of the 18 candidates are expected to be shortlisted after the meeting of Council with the aspirants on October 27.

The shortlisted candidates are expected to meet with the Selection Board on October 28, after which the report of the interview with Selection Board will be considered at a Council meeting slated for October 28.

By November, a new Vice Chancellor will emerge and resume office on the 1st of December .
