Fresh indication has emerged that there was no time former Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, deliberately snubbed Ibadan-based Fuji musician, Iyanda Sawaba, at the recent 72nd posthumous birthday of Sikiru Ayinde Barrister in Ibadan.

The Nation quoted Oloye Lekan Alabi, one of the sponsors of the event, who said he witnessed everything on the fateful day, as saying that it was nothing serious as reported in the media.

He said: “I am one of the sponsors of the event. You know it is not always easy when there is crowd and everyone tries to reach out to you. He was departing at that moment and there were many people. Sawaba didn’t have a one-on-one affair with Ajimobi and what happened wasn’t a big deal. I saw the story; it was reported as if he snubbed him but he didn’t. I was there; we are all human beings.”

Popularly known as Easy Sawaba, the veteran singer is a native of Ile-Aperin in Orita Aperin, Ibadan. Although born in Ghana, he enjoyed glorious years in the Nigerian music industry in the 70s and 80s.
