The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/ Iddo federal constituency, in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, has explained what actually happened during the meeting where some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, his former party, told him to forget his third term bid.
A statement by his media aide, Opeyemi Adesokan, said Adepoju, as a community leader, was not booed.
He explained that Adepoju, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, had stopped to greet members of his former party, when one councilor started shouting, an action he described as normal in politics.
The attention of Hon. Sunday Adepoju Omoyin has been drawn to a video uploaded on Facebook and Oyo Insight through one of the APC party members in Ward 5 of Ibarapa East local government, Eruwa.
We want to use this opportunity to educate the person that uploaded the video that Sunday Omoyin is a community leader who has the right to address any political party.
It will interest you to know that Hon. Sunday Adepoju Omoyin respects the interest of everyone, he was on a visit to ADC party members in Ward 5 in Eruwa when he saw some APC members holding their ward meeting, and as a courageous man, he visited them and encouraged them to have the interest of their town in mind instead of personal interest.
The most important thing is that when he started addressing the APC members according to what we all saw in the video they are well interested in what he was saying and Sunday Omoyin was seriously winning the hearts of most of the APC members when one appointed councillor from ward 5 started shouting which is normal in politics. My people politics aside I will want you to watch the video again and again to confirm what I have said.
Thanks for understanding.
