The Chairman of The Progressive Forum, Ibadan (TPFI), Tunji Oladejo, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde on his appointment as the new Secretary to the Oyo State Government by Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a release on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Oladejo described the appointment as “proof of Professor Babatunde’s exceptional competence and dedication to the development of Oyo State”.
Oladejo noted that Professor Babatunde’s impressive track record as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning made him an ideal fit for the role. “Your expertise in budgeting, economic planning and governance has equipped you with the skills necessary to effectively coordinate the state’s administrative machinery”, he said.
The TPFI Chairman highlighted Professor Babatunde’s achievements as Commissioner, including his ability to implement development-oriented budget planning, improve project coordination and enhance monitoring, which had a positive impact on many sectors. “This experience will undoubtedly serve you well in this new role, enabling you to enhance policy coherence and drive service delivery across the State,” Oladejo said.
Oladejo expressed confidence that Professor Babatunde’s leadership would positively influence the State’s development trajectory, citing initiatives aimed at diversifying the economy and leveraging his academic excellence and expertise in economic planning to drive growth in sectors beyond agriculture. He also expected improved infrastructure development, with a focus on effective project execution and monitoring, as well as governance reforms that enhance transparency and accountability in government operations.
“This appointment is a call to greater service, and we have no doubt you will rise to the challenge,” Oladejo said, extending the Forum’s best wishes to Professor Babatunde.
