Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, Oyo State coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council, has revealed how happy Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was when he campaigned in Ibadan, the state capital last week.
The former deputy governor quoted Tinubu as saying that he was surprised that he could see such crowd in Ibadan, despite not having a sitting governor of APC in the state.
”Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was elated that he thank all of us, including the people of the state for trooping out enmasse to receive and host him. He was satisfied, adding that the state is one of the best campaigns.
“This was just as he assured that he would give the necessary support to ensure Oyo gets back into the progressive fold in the 2023 elections,” the Igboho-born retired permanent secretary revealed.
Olaniyan, while thanking the members of the APC in the state as well as members of the Independent Campaign Council that he heads, he charged everyone not to rest until the election day and victory is assured for Asiwaju and other candidates of the party.
”This is not the time to rest. Let’s continue to campaign. We still have till Thursday to do this. After that, let’s move to our various polling units to canvass support for Tinubu and other candidates our APC. By the grace of God and with what we have done so far, we are confident of victory,” he added.
