Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Joseph Tegbe, has congratulated the Olubadan, Oba Mohood Lekan Alli and members of the Olubadan-in-council on the appointment of new Ibadan chiefs.
Tegbe, in a statement on Saturday, described the appointment of two Mogajis Abiola Iyiola and Remi Babalola as Jagun Olubadan and Jagun Balogun Olubadan respectively as a call to duty.
Tegbe, who is also an Ibadan Mogaji, noted the appointment is a testimony to the contributions of the duo to the development and upliftment of Ibadan land.
His statement read: “On behalf of my family and the entire Oguntegbe Compound in Labo, I wish to congratulate Kabiyesi Olubadan, the Olubadan in council and the entire sons and daughters of Ibadan land on the elevation of Ibadan chiefs to new ranks and the appointment of new ones.
“I congratulate Mogajis Abiola Iyiola and Remi Babalola on their appointments as Jagun Olubadan and Jagun Balogun Olubadan. I also extend my felicitation to Oloye Akinade Fijabi, the new Aare Alasa Olubadan; Barrister Olumuyiwa Makinde the new Ajia Olubadan and other Senior Chiefs on their elevation, which is a testimony to their contributions to the development and upliftment of Ibadan land.
“The new position is a call to duty as the reward for hard work is more work. I am confident in the ability of the chiefs to deliver on the mandate given to them and do more, and support our Baba Kabiyesi in his quest to make Ibadan a better place for all.
” I pray God Almighty will be their strength as they embark in the assignments. The Òsẹ́ méjì that founded the land of Ibadan will be their guide , Òkèbàdàn Àtàgé Olómu Òru will be with them.”
