Deputy chairman of the Oyo State Tourism Board, Alhaji Abass Oloko, has advised aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State to sheath their sword.
According to Oloko, it is anti-party for a member of PDP to openly denigrate the person of Governor Seyi Makinde who is the leader of the PDP. “Elsewhere, they would have been shown the exit door from the party,” Oloko added.
He asked them to either wait for the outcome of the reconciliation committee headed by Chief Saka Balogun or leave the PDP.
Being the only PDP governor in southwest Nigeria, Oloko explained, Makinde is automatically the leader of the party.
Oloko, who made this known in a chat with OYOINSIGHT.COM, advised those whose stock in trade is abusing the governor to leave the party “because by their comments, they are demarketing the party they claim to belong.
“I had wanted to refrain from making comments on the family fight within our party but I think it is time I intervene. Governor Seyi Makinde is not God. He has said it several times that everybody would be compensated.
“While I salute Governor Seyi Makinde for the way he has been conducting government activities, I will like to urge those who are aggrieved to further dialogue with him; they have avenues for that already, they should explore that.
“In fact, we should all be happy that we have a man who is marketable at the helms of farms. In less than to two years, he has taken government back to the people. In the area of education, health, agriculture and infrastructural, this man has invested heavily. People now have trust in who governs them unlike in the past. Particularly, I am happy with the LAUTECH takeover. Like I tell my friends, it was a ‘silent revolution’.
“I can also say that I am aggrieved but we just have to rally round this performing governor. It is good he is committed to tackling issues affecting the masses first, it would soon get to our turn. We should further dialogue and continue to offer prayers and support for this administration,” he added.
