OYO INSIGHT overheard them protesting the ‘quick’ announcement of Ejiogbe as the new boss.

It would be recalled that the union’s national president, Alhaji Najee’s Yasin, has directed the deputy chairman of the chapter, Alhaji Abideen Olajide, popularly known as Ejiogbe to step in in acting capacity according to the constitution of the union.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi, OYO INSIGHT recalled, had in his condolence message, asked members of the union to obey the directive on the acting chairman.

Impeccable sources told OYO INSIGHT that trouble started when, after Fele aaa buried, the acting chairman, Alhaji Abideen Olajide aka Ejiogbe directed that a meeting be held at the council’s Ojoo secretariat.

“Ejiogbe invited them to a meeting at Ojoo and they declined. They are threatening to start fomenting troubles. They are of the belief that by leaving New Garage for Ojoo, late Fele’s supporters would be edge out of power,” the source said.

OYO INSIGHT learnt that before Fele died, the motor park at New Garage area of Ibadan was temporarily used for the meeting. This was so because the structure of state secretariat collapsed few weeks ago and the union’s ongoing project at Ojoo is yet to be completed.

Though Ejiogbe’s appointment as acting chairman is constitutional, the source added that “those who are opposed to his appointment are those who have disrespected him in the past. They are unsure of their future in the new order.”
