Dr. Olayinka Gbolahan Ibikunle, an aspirant for Ibadan North West/South West seat of the House of Representatives in the 2023 election, has given out point of sales, POS, machines to 40 of the residents of the two council areas.
The business empowerment, which focused majorly on masterclass for training of 80 participants on POS machine usage as well as providing of the machines for the beneficiaries, held at Kiniun Onibudo House, Omo Lade Nursery and primary school, Olopo Mewa, Eleyele, Ibadan.
According to Ibikunle, the gesture is expected to “help in empowering the unemployed and vulnerable in feeding themselves and also to help in providing themselves with daily needs without begging.”
Out of the 80 selected beneficiaries, who were divided into two tranches, 40 successful beneficiaries were trained and provided with the POS machines while the next 40 are expected to join in February.
One of the beneficiaries commended him, saying that “this gesture of our man has been one of the good dividends of democracy we are starting to witness. Without being in government, he has successfully engaged the populace with business empowerment. What more should we expect when he wins”.
