Looters who carted away items belonging to other people have started returning them.
This, sources told OYOINSIGHT.COM, is due to the intervention of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
Oba Adeyemi, this newspaper understands, had issued an ultimatum to looters to return items not belonging to them.
Due to the looting occasioned by the shooting of #EndSARS protesters in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria, some hoodlums had bombarded the Oyo office of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, located at Akunlemu and took away some commercial motorcycles.
The monarch had said that “As a ruler and Permanent Chairman of the State Council of Obas and Chiefs, it is my duty to ensure that the people, not only in my domain but the entire state live in an atmosphere of peace and harmony, and devoid of any threats to lives and property. All those with criminal intents who chose oyo as their abodes will soon meet their waterloo’’.
A source close to Atiba division of the Nigeria Police Force, who spoke with OYOINSIGHT.COM, said almost 4 motorcycles and a television set have been returned.
