President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, felicitated with Dr. Yunus Abiodun Akintunde, the first Nigerian to bag a doctorate degree in Energy and Environment, on the auspicious occasion of his diamond jubilee, March 6, 2022.

The statement was titled, ‘President Buhari fecilitates with Energy Economist, Dr. Yunus Akintunde at 60’.
While rejoicing with family, friends and associates of the icon, Buhari also applauds the meritorious service of the celebrant to his native Oyo State, to Nigeria and to scholarship, through his current book, ‘Dimensions of Energy Poverty and Rural Electrification in Nigeria’.
He wished the celebrant long life, prosperity and further service to motherland Nigeria.
Born on the 6th of March, 1962 in the ancient city of Oyo, Oyo State. Akintunde, who hails from Oyo west local government, is an alumnus of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Lagos State University and University of Ibadan where he became the first to bag a Doctorate Degree in Energy and Environment at the institution’s Centre for petroleum. At the book launch billed for the International Conference Centre, of the University of Ibadan, UI, former president Abdulsalam Abubakar will lead others who included deputy governor of Oyo State, Remi Olaniyan; interior minister Rauf Aregbesola; his youths and sports counterpart, Sunday Dare; senior advocate of Nigeria, Ahmed Raji; Senators Teslim Folarin and AbdulFatai Buhari; Adeolu Akande; Alhaji Tajudeen Ajibola Ibrahim; Engr. Idris Adeoye, Arc Wasiu Adebisi; former governor Rashidi Ladoja; Alaafin of Oyo, Olu of Ilaro and the Olu of Warri.
