The Oyo State Chapter Of the Road Transport Employer’s Association of Nigeria ( RTEAN) has called on the Governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde to allow RTEAN to work fully in Ibadan as this will ensure effective generation of revenue for the state.
Comrade Kamorudeen Idowu, aka Owogesi stated this while speaking with newsmen in ibadan, the Oyo state capital yesterday.
He said that the association is well co- ordinated in all the local Government Councils and the LCDA in order to carry out its activities successfully.
According to Owogesi, “it is the National Union Of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, that was proscribed by the government and not RTEAN. We are ready to work with the government in all ways it required.”
Owogesi added that RTEAN has been a be law abiding and peaceful organization and will continue to be.
“We know that Governor Seyi Makinde is a listening Governor and will acede to our appeal. It is on record that a court in ibadan a few days ago has declared the activities of Park Managers illegal.”
Owogesi assured the Governor that the government will generate more revenue through RTEAN.
