Supervisory councilors have asked Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, to run for another term because of the numerous achievements he has recorded in less than three years.
The appointees, led by their coordinator, Oni Mike, who is a supervisory councilor for health in Oorelope local government, Igboho, made this known on Thursday when they declared their support for the governor for another term.

It is of great delight to welcome you all to this inter-faith prayer. It is our informed belief that everything needs prayer, and with prayers, success is always assured.
Your Excellency, let me use this opportunity to, on behalf of all my colleagues, express profound appreciation to you for giving us the privilege to serve as Supervisory Councillors. Thank you, Your Excellency!
Today, we are here to offer prayers to the Almighty, first in appreciation for giving us His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, a Leader who has the interest of the people of Oyo State at heart. In Your Excellency, Oyo State has a focused and visionary leader, who has continued to give his best to ensure that Oyo State regains its pride of place as the Pacesetter State.
Under Your Excellency’s leadership in less than three years, Oyo State has had a change of story for the better. Your people-oriented government has built solid infrastructure and implemented sound policies in the health, education and economic sectors.
Scores of newly-constructed and rehabilitated roads, hundreds of renovated Primary Health Care Centres, hundreds of education infrastructure projects and a steady and solid expansion of Oyo State’s economy bear witness to Your Excellency’s insightful leadership.
All these, and many more, are the reasons we are here today, Your Excellency. We are here to pray to God for giving us a good leader like you and to pray to Him to continue guiding you.
We are also here to pray to you to PLEASE CONTINUE for another four years…Makinde o, maa ba’se re lo, ise re ma nte wa l’orun o, Makinde o, maa ba’se re lo!
On behalf of the entire Forum of Supervisory Councillors in Oyo State, we promise to stand by Your Excellency and to do everything within our capacity to ensure your continuity in office beyond 2023. On your second term mandate we stand! ‘Seyi Makinde l’awa ntele, walai a o si number mu!
Finally, we would like to also put another prayer before Your Excellency, because we are like Oliver Twist, who always asks for more. Your Excellency, we would like you to extend more of your benevolence to us in the areas of:
i.) Organisation of Seminars
ii.) Payment of furniture allowance
iii.) Improved remuneration
We believe in Your Excellency’s benevolence, therefore, we say with one voice, Thank You in anticipation!
