A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Engr. Remi Oseni, today began the distribution of a trailer load of rice to thousands of households across the state.
The gesture, according to Oseni, is in a bid to relief the people of the state of the hardship they face due to the lockdown of economic and human activities occasioned by the deadly pandemic, coronavirus.
Only yesterday, OYOINSIGHT.COM recalled, Oseni donated the sum of N10 million to the Oyo State COVID-19 Endowment Fund. He had made a transfer of N10 million to the endowment account domiciled with the First Bank of Nigeria this morning.
The Ibadan-born engineer had said that “I have decided to donate my widow’s mite because I know the state cannot do it alone. While I commend the governor for what he has done thus far, I will like to urge other well-meaning individuals to support the state. No matter what the state offers, it still needs help. Nothing is too small.”
While thanking God for Makinde’s recovery from COVID-19, Oseni said “from tomorrow, my people would start distributing relief materials that included medical equipment, food stuffs as well as cash gift to various communities across the state. While we pray his pandemic ends soon, we promise to continue this gesture as far as we can go,” he had added.
