Winner of last month Ibarapa East bye-election, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, yesterday resumed office after he was inaugurated by the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olagunju Ojo.
Ogundoyin, who was at Thursday’s plenary and formally admitted as a member of the Assembly, spoke of his agenda to collaborate with other legislators to see to the good of the state.
After the administering the oath of allegiance, the speaker urged Ogundoyin to work closely with other members towards ensuring a better Ibarapa East constituency and Oyo state, at large
The seat became vacant following the death of its immediate past speaker, Barr Adesina Michael Adeyemo, who died in April, 2018.
Below is his inaugural speech:
I feel so elated today. The ecstasy is a result of the gains that can come to our great constituency if we can continue the act of electing vibrant and wise youths that know how to seek advice from the old and use the agility of the youth age to get great things down to his people.
As I take oath of office today, I looked back at how Lanlate, Eruwa and environs rallied round me to show their support and make this feat achievable. The honour given to me is on all the constituents of Ibarapa East and I want to boldly say that you are the real honourable.
Never believe in the notion that the youths are too young to run, believe we can, through a synergic union between the old and the young.
Thank you Lanlate
Thank you Eruwa
Thank you everybody in every wards that constitutes Ibarapa East.
