It was jubilation galore over the weekend as Akin Alabi, who represents Egbeda/Ona Ara federal constituency handed over blocks of 9 classrooms to St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Olukunle, Olodo.
At the ceremony which had political leaders in the council area, Alabi presented the keys to the blocks of 9 classrooms, to the community leaders in that area.
The school is equipped with chairs and desks, white boards, ceiling fans and others.
Speaking at the ceremony, the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain enjoined the community to make good use of the facilities, adding that he won’t relent in ensuring that his constituents are properly empowered.
”I am happy for what we are doing here today. And I am also happy for your support so far. I am impressed by your understanding before, during and after the construction work. I want to urge you all to see this project as yours. Let’s all see to the management of the schools. We all know government struggles to get fund now. If we maintain the ones we have, it will be good for us.
“We have never been found wanting in the discharge of our duties, both legislative and oversight. I make bold to say that there are just few weekends that I stayed back in Abuja since I was elected. It’s always been about my people. I don’t need to repeat you about what I have been doing as to the empowerment of the people of Egbeda/Ona Ara. Our needs aren’t the same. And we can say that we have done well in empowering our people and assisting communities. And we aren’t relenting. We have more in the bags. I am grateful for the show of love.
Community and political leaders who took turns to talk, praised Alabi for his efforts.
According to them, it has been long since they were represented by a lawmaker that has ideas and knows how to achieve them.
”We are grateful for this. We count ourselves lucky because we know the number of communities in our federal constituency. We want to assure that whenever the need arises to offer support, we won’t hesitate to mobilize support for you. We are so grateful our dutiful lawmaker,” one of them said.
