Teslim Folarin governorship campaign received a major boost Wednesday morning as Kemi Alao-Akala donated a bus to support his bid.
Mrs Alao-Akala is wife of late former governor Adébáyọ̀ Alao-Akala and All Progressives Congress, APC, leader who died January 12, 2022.
The presentation which was done shortly after an early morning breakfast with the Alao-Akalas, drew wild applause from Folarin, who has been in Ogbomosoland since Sunday as part of his consultation tour ahead the 2023 governorship campaign.
An obviously surprised three-term senator thanked Mrs Alao-Akala for the gesture, saying that their late patriarch would continue to be remembered for good.
”Though I know our late leader was popular because of the smiles he put on the faces of people when he was alive. The last four days in Ogbomoso has revealed a lot. Christians, Muslims, traditional rulers, non-indigenes and others have beautiful things to say about him. He was actually a man of the people. Even people we visited told us to rest assured that they would support anything linked to our late leader.
”I want to thank Mrs Kemi Alao-Akala for this gesture. I must say I am surprised because it wasn’t expected. We have only come here to see our brother, Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, who is our candidate for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire federal constituency. We are grateful for this. We will continue to remember late Chief Adébáyọ̀ Alao-Akala for good,” he remarked.
