One of the People’s Democratic Party Aspirants for Ibadan North East/ South East Federal Constituency, Deji Aboderin has alleged that the ruling party in Oyo State did not conduct primaries in his Constituency to pick the Standard-bearer of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Aboderin disclosed this today in a phone interview with Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on BOTTOM LINE – a political programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan.
He alleged that even as an aspirant, he was shut out of the venue of the primary.
“There was nothing like primaries in PDP because the party didn’t conduct any. Ask anyone who was at the Aperin venue of the primary, nothing happened”.
He also announced his decampment to the Social Democracy Party (SDP).
He also introduced himself as the SDP’s Candidate for Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency in the scheduled House of Representatives election in 2023.
Asked how he was able to pick up SDP’S ticket within hours after the PDP’S primaries, the former aide to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi said he decamped to the party after his disappointment in the PDP.
“For me it’s about service and it does not really matter on which platform I am given the opportunity to serve my people”.
When asked if he would be taken serious by the people after showering praises on the PDP few years back when he left the APC then, he replied saying “the reason why I left the APC is different from why I left the PDP.
The PDP promised me a level playing ground but that didn’t happen”.
He expressed optimism that that his new destination will give him what he wants.
